Settlement Timelines and T+0

How settlement timing works after you execute, what T+0 means in practice, and the factors that affect when funds and assets arrive.

Settlement is the movement of funds and assets after a trade is booked. GlacierPay is built for same-day settlement, and in many cases delivery completes on the same business day the trade is executed, known as T+0.

What drives the timing

The direction of your trade and the rails involved determine how quickly each leg completes. Crypto legs move as fast as network confirmations allow, while fiat legs depend on banking hours and the payment rail used.

  • Crypto delivery paced by blockchain confirmation times
  • Fiat delivery paced by banking hours and rail cut-off times
  • Same-day settlement when trades are booked before cut-off
  • Next business day where a leg falls outside banking hours

Prefunding and speed

Where your account is prefunded, the desk can deliver the bought asset or fiat proceeds without waiting for your inbound leg to clear. This is the fastest path to T+0 and is worth discussing with your relationship manager if speed is a priority.

You can always follow the live status of each leg in the settlement tracker, so you know exactly when to expect funds or assets to arrive.
