OTC Trader
About the role
As an OTC Trader at GlacierPay you sit at the center of our desk, pricing and executing block trades for institutional clients across 45+ countries. You will quote firm two-way prices, manage inventory risk, and work large fiat to crypto and crypto to fiat orders with minimal slippage and market impact.
GlacierPay is a FINTRAC-registered Canadian MSB (MSB #C10001598) running an institutional OTC desk that settles more than $200M every month for 350+ active clients. You will work closely with our liquidity partners and settlement operations team to make sure every fill is priced sharply and settled cleanly.
This is a fully remote role for a trader who is comfortable owning risk, thinks in terms of spreads and flow, and treats every client relationship as a long-term book of business rather than a one-off ticket.
What you will do
- Quote firm two-way prices on major digital assets and stablecoins for institutional clients, then execute and manage the resulting risk.
- Manage desk inventory and hedging across venues and liquidity providers to keep positions within agreed limits.
- Work large block orders with minimal slippage, timing execution against market depth and volatility.
- Monitor market conditions, spreads, and funding across spot and derivatives venues throughout the trading day.
- Partner with settlement operations to ensure trades move cleanly from confirmation to final settlement.
- Grow and deepen relationships with active trading clients, understanding their flow and anticipating their needs.
- Contribute to pricing logic, risk limits, and desk playbooks as the trading operation scales.
What we are looking for
- 3+ years of trading experience on an OTC desk, crypto exchange, market maker, or comparable institutional trading environment.
- Strong understanding of spot digital asset markets, stablecoins, spreads, and inventory risk management.
- Track record of executing large orders while managing slippage and market impact.
- Comfort making fast decisions under pressure and owning the outcome of your positions.
- Solid grasp of settlement mechanics across fiat rails and multiple blockchain networks.
- Clear, precise communicator who can hold client relationships and coordinate with operations in real time.
Nice to have
- Experience with derivatives, options, or basis and funding-rate strategies.
- Familiarity with institutional custody such as Fireblocks and MPC wallet workflows.
- Existing network of institutional or high-volume trading clients.
- Working knowledge of Canadian MSB or wider AML and compliance obligations.
